I'mmmmm Back!!!!!! Through rain rain rain!!! We have had sooooooooooooo much rain the last couple of days!! We have been confined to inside fun since Monday, but have had lots of fun, ESPECIALLY TODAY!!! We saw alittle of everything today!! And it didn't rain till we got home tonight! We are in the Finger Lakes area in NY, and we were out at Seneca Lake today. Our first stop was going to be Bob's Highlight "Watkins Glen International Speedway"! We drove out to the track, just to be told we couldn't drive out to the track area. However, you can drive your own car on the track "behind" the pace truck, but the next event started at noon(we got there at 11:50) NOT BAD TIMING BUT YOU HAVE TO BUY THE TICKETS BACK IN TOWN!! the next time wasn't until 5:00 pm--and "you know who" no way is going to let this opportunity pass him by! (only rain can stop him now). So we have until 4:30 to hope the weather holds. We went with Pat & Dennis to Watkins Glen State Park. They have a Gorge and what a sight, especially after all the rain, the water was phenomenal And we did some climbing, got some great shots and we got pretty wet in some areas, but we had as Pat calls them with her NY accent, "SLIKAS & SNEEKAS" gotta love her!!! Lot of laughs! We just keep climbing and I thought we were at the top but nooooo, We look up this VERY STEEP CLIMB, LOTS OF STEPS, Dennis refers to it as "The Stairway to Heaven", also JACOB'S LADDER, then said he was going to have to call MEDIVAC to get out of here!!! We had a great time in between stops but we climbed ALLLLLLLL The way to the TOP!!! WOOOO HOO!!!! SUN Came out for the first time YAY!!!!! We made it down from the top!!! Ok lets go eat!!!!!!!! Found a Nice Italian restaurant in town, mmmmmmmm Eggplant Parmesan good food!!! family!!! But I know Bob is wondering what is the weather going to do mmmmm it is only 3:00 so he has to let me & Pat shop. He tells us 15 min and the bus leaves!!! We were good. UH OHH showers start and I pray aww come on ENOUGH! Thank you!! We get out to Watkins Glen and it is a ghost town, there is only one other car that is going on the track. Bob is getting EXCITED!!!! The man who drove the pace car knew Bob wanted to go fast, Bob told him go as fast as you can I'll keep up!! You get to go 3 laps, Unfortunately Bob was the 2nd car, the first 2 laps Dennis rode in the front, I did some videos from the back seat , and they actually show a better sense of speed, but he only got up to 80 mph, he really wanted to go faster!!! After the second lap they stop at the Start Finish Line and you can get out and take pictures. Now Bob wants me in the front to take a movie, The video really looks like we are going alot slower and alot further from the car in front of us, but BOB was on his ASS!!!! Video will capture more of the excitement from our perspective, but gotta hear that "HEMI"!!! The brakes were "chattering"(as Bob calls it) and you can hear it on the video. We had a great day and have enjoyed our time with Pat & Dennis so glad we could spend these days together. To bad we couldn't have a fire and sit outside!!
