We went to West Point today. The drive was very pretty all the colors of the trees. We head off for our day and of course we took the wrong turn, but it was a gate for West Point, Military Man @ the gate told us we took the wrong turn, I bet he gets that alot. We found our way, again!!! Went into the Visitor Center and the only way you can get near West Point is by "TOUR BUS". We get up to inquire about the "TOUR" and I see the sign "PHOTO ID"
Guess who didn't bring their purse- with the wallet"=" ID. I really wasn't thinking, duh! Well we went into the Museum and it was lots of old uniforms, guns, cannons, lots of weapons, wars over and over again. Men just don't play well with others! We are going to go back to West Point- maybe- Bob was in the Navy so he's ok but I would like to see inside-so we'll see. The one thing in the museum that really caught my eye was an old cannon from World War 1. Read the plaque amazing we were here and look at the date- 93 years later in history. Pretty cool. Took the scenic route back, someone missed the turn, but of course the navigator was blamed. I told him to turn then--- going going gone 293 exit, but he was going to FAST.....
The detour was very pretty. Tomorrow we are going into NY City. We are going to take the train in. Seems to be alot easier, there shouldn't be alot of traffic tomorrow or Sunday, and what is on Sunday???? mmmmmmm I can't wait!!!!! Ok I have to get to bed early tonight and get ready for tomorrow. Yankees are going home !!! Doesn't look good!!! We have also figured out our next destination. We will be here until 10-28 then we are going to Washington DC...so Kim I don't know-- we may just get back for Turkey Day!!! John and Donna we talked about Thanksgiving at our house but I think meeting the kids at Benbow RV park would be cool, She & E are you up for this??? Wow I can't believe how fast time has gone by... Dulcie you have been the best!!!! Thanksgiving is what one month?? Not far away love you all!!!
