Well we are in Buffalo, WY. Pretty scary drive starting out today as you can see by the sky! Looked like OZ to me... kept seeing lightning but we caught the tail end of the rain and the sun stayed with us!!! The scenery is much different but found some great spots. Got to Buffalo around 3:00pm. Leave in the morning for Mt. Rushmore area. We met a couple next to us tonight..they are from Chicago, taking their daughter back to Eugene, OR for her college!! GO DUCKS!!!!!! But what is crazy they left Chicago on Sunday ( just two days ago) and they are in WY, Well they asked how long we've been gone-----WEEELLL 1 month compared to 2 days, we are taking our time!! And LOVING IT!! But hey we are almost in South Dakota and it should go quick from there. We are figuring out our strategy plan and it gets very confusing which day?? where and when?? that's why we like planning as we go . So a few pictures for you now..Pat it's an hour from the KOA to Auburn so it's good!!! Night for now everybody......xxxxxoooooo

We are in Cody, Wyoming. What a great town. We got here about 3:00 pm today. Didn't do much setting up, we wanted to get to the Buffalo Bill Museum. That place is HUGE. And all the things they have. A HUGE gun collection 2700 guns and probably more. We didn't see them all. All the saddles, jewelry, old clothing, yada yada yada!!! Great place to visit! We are going back in the morning to finish the exhibits. Have two day pass, so we will go before we head off to Buffalo (isn't that an old song?) We had the best dinner tonight. We went to Wyoming's Rib & Chop House. I had a rib eye and Bob had a fillet. It was the best steak, the flavor was fantastic, and the baked potato was enough to feed 4 people... Well guess what's for dinner tomorrow night. Beautiful mountains real rugged terrain. Very windy and rainy. Going through the Sylvan Pass is on the video. We had a very scary looking sky when we got here in Cody, it looked like We were in Kansas with Dorothy!!!!! A little lightning started, then sun, sprinkles, and it just kind of by passed us!! Thank You !! I hate lightning it scares the $%^& out of me!! Anyway we have an early start in the morning. So enjoy the ride and the sights love you xxxxoooooo

Gallatin River

I found out on line that the movie "A River Runs Through it" the fishing scenes were filmed on the Gallatin River, and other areas of Gallatin. That was a great movie!!!If you've never seen it rent it I know I will again now that we have been in Montana and really appreciate what we have seen!!! Good Night It's still raining!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sat Afternoon 8-28-10 catch the bear/big storm

Well we're having one HELL of Thunder & Lightning storm. We just had lightening strike right over the top of us and I just ABOUT JUMPED OUT OF MY SKIN!!!!!! No I am not taking any pictures, try the video hope you can hear it! It is absolutely POURING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so glad we are not outside in this today!!!! This ought to bring the bear out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She didn't go for the trap. I was talking to a lady who works here and her rv is right where the bear trap is, She said she is a very persistent bear. Well we are having a lazy day today. We are both feeling the effects of Altitude change. We climbed up in elevation yesterday and I got really dizzy when were at the top of Dunraven. Bob not feeling to good today either. They told us here at the park flu like symptoms are from the change in altitude if you are not used to it. Can still hear rumbling !!! The other pictures are of the bear trap where it is set at the field is right behind us. We went from a sunny morning to this!!!!

Fri 8-27-10

Well looks like we have us a "MONTANA BEAR POSSE" going on here!!! Seems to be a "Rowdy Mama Grizzly and her lil cub" keep disturbing the old homestead!! She was in the campground 4 times last night. They are setting the bait trap now may get very interesting tonight!! This is what the bear trap looks like. They bait the trap with What bears like right!! And the trap is set- just up the road from where we are.
Not to worry animals are not hurt they really take care of them and try to protect them. It's the humans that are stupid!!! Get out right in the middle of the road or try to approach a WILD ANIMAL HELLLLOOO!!! Alot of Foreigners just dumb!!!
We took a walk up there tonight, DUSK. And they hope to catch her. Move her and the cub to another location. We had another long road trip today still no bear, we just need to watch right here and will see it all!!! we did see some more Buffalo, a Five point Bull Elk (right next to our car)Two really big Bucks, Bob was in HEAVEN! Went up to Dunraven Pass Elevation is 8859. Nice view!! We did cross the Continental Divide elevation there is 8391....Well I think I want to stay out of the car tomorrow I think shopping in town great little shops.....so We will watch out for Bears!!!! xxxxxoooo

Thurs 8-26-10

Just a preview we went to the Grizzly Wolf Discover Center today and it was really cool. They have a few sets of twin grizzly's, some since 1996. Their mothers were killed or strangely disappeared. Well they are huge !! 650 lbs this one is and her name is Spirit. We saw alot today once we got in the park elk, buffalo,(mating season for the buffalo), deer, No bears in the wild yet but we are going to the upper section of Yellowstone tomorrow. I have more pictures but I want this video first....We saw Old Faithful, only had to wait about 15 min before it went off. People just waiting patiently... Beautiful! I really like Glacier park for scenery better, it was unfortunate that Yellowstone had the fires but you can see alot of growth coming back. YEY!!!! This KOA we are staying at is really in a beautiful spot way out of town and lots of land. I will put some more pictures on too!!! I have a great picture of a Buffalo that will come next. he was just trotting down the road, it is Bison mating season and this was one whooped buffalo but just down the road he new there was more honey, she was off on the side of the road about 1/2 mile but he sensed her..... Crazy looking creatures but they are supposed to be the most aggressive...

Ok it's WINE TIME!!!!!!

We made it!!!!! We got to Yellowstone at 8:00 tonight looooooooonnnng day!! The RV is just fine. I am so glad that Bob made this appointment for today, well at least until that stupid light came on... You can really tell when you have workers OR sloooooooowwwww workers. After a couple of hours we found out it was a BLOW BY FILTER, We really think it was a computer glitch. Wheels are all torqued and everything else at least was a warranty item!!! Well we finally got out of there at 5:30 and it was 90 miles to this campground in Yellowstone. We almost stayed at an rv park in Bozeman MT but We are so glad we made it tonight. The park is really big and VERY NICE.. Concrete pads with a nice table and a rocking lounger fire pit too!! And the view is great. The elevation here is 6666. Weather was still really nice when we got here tonight around 73 but I'm sure it will cool down. Can already feel it. They have a big restaurant, coffee shack, ice cream, huge gift shop, and I'm sure there's more than we've even seen. There are alot of sites. When we checked in tonight the guy told us they had Grizzly Bears in here Sunday night so no garbage outside... When we finally got situated and had some ALCOHOL, Bob asked me if I wanted to go for a walk, mmmmmmmmmm it's dark out there so HELL NO!!! We have been in this RV all day and maybe he wants to make me BEAR FOOD!!! I think tomorrow will be better and BRIGHT !!! When I was taking pictures The river was Gallatin River. We followed it for quite awhile saw a nice Buck, blasted the Air horn and he ran. Saw lots of fly fisherman, just like the Movie "A river runs through it" I know it was filmed in Montana have to check out where. Well at least we made it and no travel day tomorrow just through Yellowstone, so until then We are in The BIG SKY wow Stars and Moon!!!!!! unbelievable!!!!! xxxxxxooooooooo

8-25-10 12:00 pm

Well were planning on having the wheels torqued on the rv today at this Freightliner facility, and its a good thing!! When we were coming through the mountains the "check Engine" light came on. Bob said all the gauges look good, then when we were about 2 miles from Freightliner, the "STOP ENGINE" light came on "@#$%"...Well we are waiting for them to look at it Everything seems to be fine with all the oil pressures and fluids-- soooooo guess we just have to wait and see Hopefully it is good news keeps your fingers crossed I have my toes crossed too!!!! The pictures of the trucks were taken at the top of the mountain. There were four trucks hauling these big blades for the big turbine windmills they were HUGE!!!! We think they may have been held there due to construction down below sharp turns and they can't make it. Guess they're having a bad day too!! At least we're comfortable...Will let you know what's going on later bye
