Well so much for our fire last night! The rain set in then the lightning, big boomers and the WIND- WOW!!!!! It pretty much stormed all night long. Got up early this morning cause the wind and rain were relentless!!!! Oh well. It stopped raining but not the wind. We did go into Keystone today to see the "Gutzon Borglum Museum" the Artist and the Man behind Mt. Rushmore. It was very interesting. It's unfortunate he didn't live to see the completion of his work of art. He passed away 6 months before it was completed. His son finished Dad's Dream. It also would have looked much different. Washington would have been sculpted down to his waist, and Lincoln would have been holding the lapel of his jacket. Not sure if Jefferson or Roosevelt would have been changed nothing was mentioned of that, from what we heard.
But hey all the tourists were gone today the town was "windy" but empty. We had lunch at the Red Garter Saloon, No not the one in CJ, OR..ha ha ha.. We decided to go see Mt. Rushmore at night, the weather was very windy and cold but it was really something to see. I was disappointed because the pictures at night came out to blurry. I got a couple of quick videos and they seem ok but nothing like what it really was. We had dinner at the cafe at Mt Rushmore. Nice set up And I had Buffalo Stew it was really good!
We are leaving here in the morning. Have really enjoyed Mt Rushmore area and all the surrounding towns. Very interesting part of the country. So here are some pictures really disappointed that the night shots were so bad. Oh well !!! xxxxooooo till next time....
