Tues. 8-24-10

Well Deer Lodge Montana is a pretty cool little town. ALOT of history. We went to the Old Montana Prison. It was established in 1871. Constructed primarily by convict labor this prison was an active prison until 1979. It was moved to a new site 4 miles west of town. But all I can say if these walls could talk. Got lots of pictures but my battery went dead towards the end of the tour! And the bad thing was we still had the Car Museum to see...Oh am I in trouble...Naw the prison was the better part, and it's not like we've never seen any car shows---Yeah right!!! They did have alot of cars. Range was from the 1900's to the mid 60's.
Ok that's all the cars get.
The tour of the prison was a self guided tour and we spent at least 1 1/2 hours in there. The Saloon Museum was really neat too. Not so much a saloon but there was all these exhibits that were all about Buffalo Bill, Lots of GUNS!!! Indian dress, gambling exhibits. Do you remember Doc Holiday and his Gal "Big Nose Kate" well they had pictures of them, and had her own personal little gun she used ( a single shot pistol) Wow so much history in this place.... The saloon had all these old bottles, glasses real cool stuff. Sorry no pictures My fault... Anyway this day was fun. Came back to RV and had some cocktails "WHAT A SURPRISE" The weather was absolutely beautiful today!!! about 85 It did get cold last night 35--- but isn't supposed to be bad tonight. Tomorrow we head for Yellowstone and will be there till 8-30. Well we've been gone for just a little over 3 weeks and it is the best trip ever!!! The USA has so much to see.... well hope I can get some pictures on here Love you all Bob & Sharon xxxxxxxxxxoooooooooo
