Still trying to catch up ok so we are in Lethbridge, AB (ok)Well story time!! Or STOREY Time.(that's Bev & Alan's last name, pretty funny eh!!!) ok ok
So on Thurs. we saw the sights of Lethbridge what a great town and I won't say little but not alot of traffic it's very spread out and anywhere you go it only takes 5 min right eh! Crack myself up!!!
The High Level Bridge was really cool and Bob really liked it. You all know how much he likes bridges well this bridge is 5,327 feet/1623 meters long 314 feet high from above the river bed. The west end is 21.31 feet higher than the east end. It took about 1 year to complete and opened on Nov 1, 1909.....just some trivia concrete 17,090 cubic yards, steel 12,436 tons, field rivets (what the hell are those Bob)328,000, It's to fasten the steel together), Paint 7,600 gallons, and the cost
$1,334,525.00 (what's wrong with you CAL TRANS??) the photo can show you some of it- cool bridge! And the park around it goes into so much history about the era..
Great dinner at Bev & Alan's. Alan made great Ribs, Bev's salad beans, taters, and Bumble berry pie. Met "the cousins" and had a great time! You all were so much fun!!!Then they took us to a musical play called "All Fired Up" . Great cast. Canadian Theatrical group, most of the cast comes from University Of Lethbridge. Great music,fun comedy acts Thanks Bev & Alan ready for the next day.. Oh and Bev & Alan's cute little doggie Shandi was our little slumber partner, she came and saw Bob & I each night and stayed with us she is so sweet you will see her picture here soon, Yes Kim she looks like Chloe but she was much better behaved!!!
