Time to catch up again! We are in Virginia at YOGI'S JELLYSTONE PARK, in Natural Bridge, Virginia. Beautiful country, in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Weather is cooling down we had a fire earlier this evening, but were inside by 7:00 PM.
So what have we been doing since my last blog mmmmmmmmmmm I will try and remember??? Ha ha ha... We went into Washington DC yesterday (Mon) and you just can't see everything in one day. We started off early, and got to the Capitol Bldg, no one around!!! and beautiful day! We went to the Cannon Bldg. to see if Congressman, Mike Thompson, was in. Due to the election he was not. Bob has known Mike for a number of years. Sam, an Intern with Mike's Office, was in and we were given a very interesting tour with a few other people. One of the pictures shows Bob & I in the middle of some pillars, we are actually in the heart of Washington D.C. in this spot !! We were also taken down through as they call it the "Bowels of the Capitol"...
"SERIOUSLY WE WENT UNDERGROUND"....... All of our Government buildings are connected through a series of tunnels underground, They really are RATS!!! HA HA HA!! We saw the "Old Supreme Court Room" Which has not been used since 1860. We were also in the Original Chambers where Congress met. I would call it the Whispering Room because back when John Quincy Adams was across this HUGE room, and while everyone thought he was sleeping he wasn't. In reality his seat was situated where he could hear others whispering across the room. We were on the spot of his seat, and and if you listen you can hear people across the room whispering REALLY! (I may have the wrong Adams, but it was one of them) Sam stood on the other side of the room, and in a very low voice said "can you hear me" it was AMAZING! Then you see the Rotunda and I can't believe it the size HUGE!!!! I didn't even take pictures because you just can't get them but you can see the pictures how BIG they are. House of Representatives, no one in though. Any way we had a great day then we went on to the Smithsonian Inst. We spent most of the rest of the day there. Air Museum went to IMAX THEATRE and saw two movies, during the 2nd one it was a very nice floaty movie relaxing, next thing I know Bob says "Are you ASLEEP??? WHAT HUH!! I was asleep just real quick but a nice nap!!!!....We have heard GOOD things About "WE THE PIZZA" Great name, and we finally find it on our walking trip. Great Pizza! Now we are walking back to Union Station we are quite aways from the station, and we still have not seen everything!!! No Lincoln Memorial, Or Jefferson, Ford Theater, so what the hell did we do???? ALOT You need at least 3-4 days to see Washington!!! That's why I took a Nap!!!!! No Seriously this has been a Phenomenal Trip and we are still having fun but I think we both need naps!!!!! OK--- so we are in Natural Bridge, Virginia, and tomorrow I think we we will be in Harriman Tennessee????? We're not sure yet but anyway pictures and hugs and kisses to you all !!!!
